Community Sales for Craft Supplies!

Community Sales, is another great way to find craft supplies, or studio/office supplies..

A lot of communities sales are organized by local charities, or to raise funds for an event..sometimes you can really luck out for craft supplies... quite often they are held in school gyms, or large community parks if the weather is nice. Many of the park ones are basically cars with their trunks open or elaborate stalls... but they usually charge a small admission, but you can spend a day at these sales!

Scan the park or gym first, then look in more detail, and you will be amazed and what you turn up!.. These are people cleaning out their house, and trying to turn it into cash, there will be lots of "junk" but there will also be "treasures" and craft supplies, if you dig enough.. and you only have to park your car once!

Community sales are like large garage sales, but they have a lot of stuff to go thru, so allow a day, wear old clothes and comfortable shoes, and go "digging for treasure".. I once found a box of sewing patterns, that had never been used and a box of fabric, the lady was sick of sewing and wanted them out of her house, and asked $5.00 for the whole thing, as long as I took the 2 boxes with everything in it, and not leave anything behind.. so it was worth the sorting afterwards!

These are usually advertised in your local paper, so circle the date, and make your list of ideas and supplies you would like and go digging!
