Selling at Craft Market Places

Craft Market Places, are another good way to get started, but you have to put some money out each month to rent your spot.

These are stores that rent space to crafters and artists of all kinds, they are quite common in city centers, so check in the phone book or yellow pages.

Prices vary, to the stores location, and to your spot in the store.. They usually charge you monthly rent, but quite often want first and last months rent, and you usually have to sign a lease for a year. So remember you are committed for at least a year to this way of selling.

You are allowed shelf space, and if you want lighting or hydro for your display that is usually extra or negotiated in the contract.. you display your own crafts, make sure they can be seen and the price tags are not hidden.. do not overfill your shelves!.

You are usually given a report as to your sales, (you should code you crafts so you know which ones sold)

This way of selling is worth checking out.. the pro's are that you are selling every day of the year compared to just a weekend at a craft show, but remember you are committed to a contract.. worth checking out though!
