Get a Craft Partner to help with your business!

Sometimes, going it alone in business can be scarey!... I started out with a craft partner or "craft buddy"... we both made different crafts, so that we were not competing..having a craft partner, meant we could rent spots at craft shows together and save some money..

Most spots are 10 x 10 feet and they usually give you 2 tables, or you can rent more... we would make our spot look inviting and more like a store you could visit.. we made one table at the back of the spot and two along the sides, we then had one table each on the sides, and would share our greatest displays on the back table.

People would feel "invited" as we were not perched behind a table, and they could look around..come in from the aisle (which on a good day, can be quite crowded!) we would walk around the site on the outside, so as not to crowd potential customers..

its a great way to gain confidence, and get the feel of a show.. its also best that you keep track of your items, with some kind of inventory on a sheet of paper, so that when people buy some of the crafts as one purchase, you can keep track of your own sales, and it makes it easier when splitting up the cash!.. make sure to have your own cards and flyers out there as well...

You can schedule monthly meetings, maybe with your craft partner or some other buddies that love crafts, just to get your ideas flowing, plan your shows, have lunch!.. business meetings are a great way to get yourself going with your business.

Having a craft buddy doesn't mean all your business has to be thrown in one pot, you are still 2 separate businesses, just happen to be sharing a spot!
