Craft Show Prep.... be Ready!!

Craft Show prep... is very important, and you need to be ready!

Do not just think.. making a bunch of crafts, piling them in the car and throwing them on a table at a craft show is ready!!

The best system I have found for craft show prep... is to have a checklist and a corner of your place that everything can be put as its checked off.. It must be a spot that things will not be moved around from.. In my house it was the dining room!. I would start at least a week before the show, assuming all your arts and crafts are done, priced, and into containers.. they are the first on the list.

The containers of product, then work your way down, picture yourself at the booth going thru the motions of a sale, and start collection your items. I kept one of those small 3 drawer clear plastic containers, that maybe stands a foot tall, and used it for all my flyers, brochures, order books, invoice books, and cards.. and always keep them in it, that way its ready to go.. put it with your containers, then your container for money, credit cards etc, your tool kit.. Craft Show Tool Kit make sure to keep these all together in this ONE SPOT, so that when you load the car or van up, you are not racing all over the house trying to find things. If you do many shows, these containers should never be emptied, just kept for the next show, even have a part of your studio for "SHOW ITEMS ONLY".

Make sure the family is not poking thru these containers. The more you can fit into containers the better for storage and packing your car. Most shows offer tables and chairs, but if you are bringing your own, have it in this spot too.

When creating your checklist for craft show prep... I always found it easiest to go thru the motions of a sale, and then items will pop into your head... but DON'T wait until craft show set up night, to be looking all over the house for this and that, or sending the car back and forth from home to the show..

Once you have done your first show, you can update your craft show prep list while its fresh in your mind.. being prepared is a great moto for the craft shows too!
