Crafts Time Management!

Crafts time management.. this is something to consider in the beginning of your business!

Before you get to the point that your crafts are taking over the kitchen, and your orders are mixed up with the laundry.. you need to set some boundries!

You, hopefully by now, have a special spot or studio for doing your crafts business, but the next thing you need to control is WHEN you do your business!

If you work from home.. like I do.. then you tend to try and multi-task throughout your day.. such as throwing a load of laundry on instead of working in your studio.. or doing some housework (which never ends!) instead of organizing your business..

Or you may be the opposite.. the kids are quietly knocking on your studio door because they haven't seen you in days!.. not sure if they have any clean clothes.. and your hubby or partner.. now thinks they are a single parent!

You need to set some rules for your business .. you need to decide what hours are best for you to work.. maybe you get the kids to school first, then zoom into your studio.. but when the day is over.. at what ever time you decide then you close the door and its OVER.. you don't sneak back in there between dinner and dessert.. its great to love our crafts business.. but you will burn out if you keep up that kind of schedule.. or the opposite is true also... the family has to realize that when you work at home, you are not going to be constantly doing the laundry or cleaning .. if you worked anywhere else.. say.. 8-4pm.. then you would not be there anyways.. so enjoy the perks of working from home, but don't OVERDUE it or UNDER DO IT!.. time management, and a written schedule makes this business look serious!
