Finish Knitting Projects for a fee!

If you are a GREAT knitter, and knitting is your passion.. why not finish knitting for a business?.

Knitting is back in style, people will always like well made items... but, people also are very busy and would love to have a hand knitted sweater, and can maybe knit themselves, but just don't have the same passion that you do, or their life is just too busy for the time needed to finish knitting a sweater etc..

Get an ad out there in the local paper, if you do craft shows at all, have a flyer that states you can finish knitting projects..! Asuming they have started the project correctly you could continue on with their pattern, but in many cases, they have purchased the pattern, the wool, and have cast on some stitches and thats it!.. You could also get creative with some of your own additions especially if they did not purchase enough wool, and you need to add some to it!

Of course, your customers, need to be people who can appreciate the time and effort involved, so make sure you state your fee up front and be firm!.. if you use a knitting machine, and can give them a break, then thats great.. but don't UNDER SELL yourself, once you start down that road, everyone will expect it.. this is a valuable service, and it should be compensated as one!.. I have found in any commission crafts, that there are many people who think you love doing this sooooo much, you will do it for free!!!... Nip that in the bud right at the beginning!.. Let them know, this is a business, just like they work for a business, and you will charge for this service..

You will lose people with this statement.. but you are running a business not a free service!..
