You need a great camera for your online arts and crafts business!

There is no way around that!... You need a great camera if you

are selling online.. Pictures are worth a 1000 words!. If you have very detailed work, then you need a high MP (mega pixal) camera, it will show the most detail.. take a look at Ritz Camera.. they have a great selection to choose from.

Nikon D50 Digital SLR

A good camera is a necessary piece of equipment if you want to sell your arts and crafts online... nothing worse than trying to sell a fuzzy picture!

Ebay, Yahoo, all of them offer online stores, and the ability to upload pictures.. you should have at least 3 of an item, up close, further away, and a angled picture so that your potential customers can get a feel for your product..

If your craft is clothing, then find a model that can pose for you wearing the article of clothing. Taking as many views as possible. If your customer can picture themselves wearing your product, they are more likely to buy it.

If you have a wooden bowl for example or other type of craft. Then setup a picture taking area, where you can delete most of the background. You could simply drape a white sheet on the couch or a chair and position your product that way.

Either way, you don't want to have your kitchen sink full of dishes in the background of your picture! Getting a good camera, may seem expensive, but the alternative is to get your pictures taken for you, which can add up.

So, if your main focus is selling online, then consider the camera, and also a staged area for taking the pictures. You don't want anything else in the photo other than your product. If you are using a model to show off your hand knit sweaters for example, then have them wear it, but be near a blank wall, or simple decor, so that there are not distractions.
