Craft Show Holidays
Craft Show Holidays, are a great way to go travelling, see the country and make some money, but they require a lot of planning and hard work
If this is your goal, working holidays, and you have already done some local shows, then this is a great way to go on a working vacation!
You need to plan a few months in advance for these working holidays, and make sure you have lots of product, as you do not want to be setting up production in hotels or camp grounds!
I have known may semi-retired people to travel this way.. they maybe both make crafts, have a van, and book all the shows in advance and pick the areas of the country that they wish to see!.. Some decisions you will have to make, would be: are you going to take special orders from all over the countryside?.. do you have a website that potential customers could order from as well as what you have to offer at the craft shows?.. A website would be a great addition to this idea.. you would be advertising for your own website while on the road.. Will you take credit cards?, what are you going to do with all the cash you make at the end of the day?.. Does your bank have branches in the areas you are planning to visit?.. these are all things to take into consideration.
On the positive side, if well organzied, this could be a great way to see areas, set up at a craft show, make some cash, then take the week to head to the next one (assuming you are doing weekend shows).. see the sites, use up some of your money, then try and make some more at the next show!.. Once again, a website would be great as well, you could get repeat orders, especially if you included a card or flyer in with the customers bag... Also check with your accountant or lawyer, as parts of this working vacation could be tax deductible..its worth checking out! HAVE FUN... you DESERVE IT!..
