More Craft Ideas for your Arts and Crafts Business!!

Custom Search

If you have hit a "road block" in just what to create.. then maybe you will find some more craft ideas here.

I will use the Craft Shows as a guide for this paragraph... at the last craft show I was in.. it was a HUGE one. Didn't make very much, as the traffic was low due to weather, but I figured instead of sitting there parked behind my table with a glum face like everyone else!.. I figured I would do some "research"..maybe find some more craft ideas.. I had my girlfriend there sharing a spot with me, so we were able to take turns walking around and checking out other peoples creations!..

There were many very creative set ups, and happy people!.. then there were those "just thrown together" set ups, with a glum person reading a book in the corner, and was not inviting at all!.. Remember display is everything!. I think some people just decide the night before they are going in a craft show, come up with a pile of crafts and throw them on a table and sit there and wait!.. (my opinion of course!)

There were the usual folk art, large wooden items, knitted goods, sewn goods, but there were also some very original ideas.. more craft ideas!... Like I said in on a previous page.. DO NOT COPY!.. but do get inspired.. I find looking around quite often gives me more craft ideas for my next project, that don't even look like anyones at the show.. just gives me the inspiration.. Below are some geat e-books that might give you some inspiration or to try a new craft for your business..

The trick is to keep changing, come up with more craft ideas, what worked one year, may not work the next.. I personally have found the wooden folk art, not to be selling as much anymore, and yet I see booth after booth with the same stuff every year!.. You have to come up with something different, to entice people, like the lady who painted on the leaves.. its different!.. rather than a straight framed painting.. framed cross stitches are beautiful, but I personally find there is too much work involved in most needlepoint to make you money back.. but you could offer to complete one for a customer?.. or there are ways of having a photo changed into a cross stitch chart.. check with your local craft store.. that would make it more personal?

Try to think of something different or a different twist on the typical craft show offerings!:KNITTING, CROCHET, PAINTINGS, FOLK ART, SCRAPBOOKING are typical.. maybe try: MACRAME?.. DENIM IDEAS.. PET CRAFTS..GARDEN CRAFTS.. just to name a few.. just be observant in your everyday life, and you will touch upon something that could be made into a craft that could be usable.. Somethings are coming back into style as well.. last year I did well with toaster covers.. I sewed them and then painted birds on them.. so it made them original.. I sold them online as they were easy to package.. just look at your everyday life, and you will become inspired, and come up with more craft ideas... PROMISE!
