Paint a mailbox... go wild!

Paint a mailbox.... now this is where I say you CAN go wild, a mailbox is a personal thing.. and you want it to reflect you!

If you mailbox is at your front door, then make a statement!.. paint a bird, flowers, abstract stripes, rainbow colours... what ever you want! If its under the shelter of a porch, then you can get away with one coat of outdoor varathane.. go ahead, make the mailman smile!

If you have a rural mailbox, it is likely quite large and long, and you could paint a mailbox with a nice scenery, farm, sheep, horses, birds.. farm fences.. let your imagination go.. now the only problem with having too wild a roadside mailbox, is that you might stand out enough to become victim to the mailbox attackers!..

If you re-coat the mail box each year with a coat of outdoor vararathane, it will last for years, just make sure you give it a good clean first... If its the rougher plastic type, you can paint right on the surface, if its a smooth plastic or metal, then its best to use a good primer first, then paint, then outdoor varathane, and make sure to use the water based outdoor varathane, as the oil based ones will make any whites in your painting turn yellow..

If you do not feel that creative, then maybe just paint a mailbox with your last name on the mailbox with different stencils, or freehand... there is always a way to paint a mailbox!
