Paint a shed... great outdoors project!

Paint a shed!... If you have one of those older metal or wooden sheds that have seen better days... why not paint a mural on it!..

If you are not confident painting a mural, paint it abstract or stripe it!.. paint a shed, this will give the shed a longer life and give you some joy in your backyard, or if you have a garden party! Garden Party If your shed is in your backyard, and more for your view only, then go wild.. if the shed is in front or in plain view... maybe don't go too wild ... in case the neighbourhood doesn't share your view of art!

This could also be offered as a great business for the summer.. offer to paint flowers, a mural, or whatever on an old shed.. There are so many great paint products out there now, that your painting can last.. If its metal make sure to use a good metal primer first, then paint, then topcoat with an outside water based varathane (oil based varathane will make your whites yellow!).. the water based OUTDOOR varathanes are pretty tough these days...

If your shed is wood, then give it a good clean, make sure there are no bugs and spiders crawling around, clear away any brush and pick a good morning.. (best not to work in the heat of the day) or evening, but make sure its dry, and prime the wood, especially if you are not sure what is on there right now.. give it a good primer, then paint, then outdoor varathane..

One idea is to paint a faux window and window box on the side of a shed.. and paint some flowers in it.. or a faux door.. something to create focus and to cover a old and tired shed! Paint a shed!
