Find Your Passion
If you know what your passion is, but are unsure of your skill level.. then why not check out e-books.. you can purchase them online, (just click on the link and follow the instructions), download them and be working on your craft today!!..
Below is a chart of great e-books, you can purchase online today, and be working on right away. If you are looking for crafts, check out the Fun and Entertainment column for hobbies and crafts. This is a great site for e-books, this is where I raised my skill level with painting, sewing and more. Browse through the chart and see if anything sparks you!
E-Books also make great gifts. I myself give them for gifts all the time. I purchase one I like, download it onto a CD and take it to my local printer or copy shop and have it printed on nice paper, and then design my own personalized cover page for them. It makes a really unique gift.
I find the craft e-books, really well written by the crafter themselves, and I refer back to them often.
Once you have found your passion, then you will get better and better at it, because it is something you like to do, and if you start making money at it, this will be a "win win" situation. Who knows, maybe you will end up writing an e-book for your craft and make your cash that way!
Just a quick note here.. some of the older crafts, such as macrame, quilling, cross stitch, quilting, knitting and more are making a HUGE comeback. This could make you some cash for your craft business. By checking out your local craft shows and fairs, you can see what "isn't there" and see if you could make it work. Having a specialty niche, helps big time in the craft markets.
A friend of mine finishes other peoples half started quilts for a craft business, and she does quite well with it, her passion is sewing.
I myself, have finished other people's half started painting projects. I painted an old milk urn for a customer, she had started it, and I saw her style and finished it. She had just been too busy to deal with it.. She paid me, and now she has it on her front porch.
Many people want homemade arts and crafts, but are just too busy to finish off their started projects. Once they find out you are available (put out ads in craft supply stores etc) you would be amazed at the response I got.
So, find your passion, and get to work on it. If you need more skills, then get an ebook, and start your business today.
