Shipping

Shipping your crafts, is another consideration if you sell online or in an online store.

I dedicated one corner of my art room, just for shipping. When I sell a piece of art or crafts online, and they have been paid for.. you need to get the item out as quick as possible, and wrapped in the best possible way.

If you need a box, a good place to go is the "bag it yourself" grocery stores, they always have boxes around, then make sure you have a roll of bubble wrap if needed, you can get this from any office store, or shipping places will sell it to you by the roll.. its a good investment. Also, save any packaging you may get yourself if you order your arts and crafts supplies online or thru the mail.. Make sure to keep packing tape, labels and any customs paperwork you may need. You can usually get a few of these from the post office ahead of time, as they are quite excited when you have all of this filled out before you get there and hold up the line!.. I will often ask for a few when I am mailing something..

Make sure you have a good marker for the address label and clearly write your return address..

I have a little counter top with 2 cupboards underneath in one corner (it was being sold as part of a old kitchen set, so was quite cheap) I keep the boxes underneath, and a little dollar store basket on top with FRAGILE stickers, pens, tape, string, and everything you will need.. Otherwise it ends up all over the house!.. it doesn't hurt to have a postage scale either, that way you can work out the approximate cost of sending your creations!

Make sure to have a roll of brown paper to wrap your packages in.. Our postal system doesn't seem to like boxes with lots of grocery store logo's on them going thru the mail, as they may get checked at customs if it looks like you are shipping a big box of tomatoes!! out of the country!.. Wrap it in the brown paper neatly, and it looks much more professional, than receiving what looks like a big box of vegetables!!

online postage.. add a picture too!
