Setting up your Studio or Craft Space

Everyone who does arts and crafts for a living.. or even if its your special hobby just for you!... needs a space or studio (that sound more pro!) to call their own

You need a spot where you can keep all your arts and crafts supplies and the associated paperwork of running a business. You can't have it mixing up with your dishes and everyday life in the kitchen!

If you can make a part of your basement yours, that would be perfect, but if you are short on space, you can claim a corner of the kitchen, or even clean out a closet, take the doors off and set up a desk or worktop, and go to the dollar store and check out each aisle. You will be amazed how cheaply you could set up little drawers for all those tiny supplies and even bigger ones.. stackable little plastic drawers are perfect especially for bead crafters!.. I have draws for my brushes, and drawers for my sewing supplies..also try to get a good light, a full spectrum light that shows daylight is perfect for those crafters who like to work in the evening!

Try to make your space inviting and professional and insist that the family does not plop their toys, books or laundry on your space.. This is YOUR business!.. if you can have a container to keep your invoice books, cards, flyers etc in, then you will always have them on hand for potential customers.. Another great place to get many supplies for your studio area or office is EBAY..

Search for crafts (actually if you click to see "all categories" crafts is one of them!..) you can see all related items to the crafter .. even vendors who sell "online logos".. which are great, if you want to start that online store.. just have a look around, and if you like what you see.. register..its free, and have fun shopping!
