The Car Buff... some great ideas for custom craftsI don't know about you other crafters out there, but I was thinking about the car buff out there!.. my mind is always trying to come up with something new to make. I thought, why not try and cater to the car buff?.. My son loves cars, especially the older ones, and he is always fixing them up. The one thing I noticed, is that the car lovers, also tend to collect anything to do with their hobby.. Posters, pictures, manuals, you name it. I thought a great craft would be to make a shadow box, and frame some older, vintage licence plates, and emblems, and pictures of older cars or the car of their dreams?.. You could decoupage black and white photos (photo copy a few on a page into black and white paper that you can then glue/decoupe to the frame).
You may not even need a shadow box, just a good wood frame deep enought to mount licence plates, car emblems, etc. These are fast becoming collector items. You could do this as a custom craft, or you could do this as a theme in your craft show, to attract the car buff!.. He/she would probably love to decorate their shop with these frames. What a great gift idea too? Get creative, get thinking, about what you could put in these frames, it could be that your customer may have a drawer full of these items, not sure what to do with them.. this would make a great gift. In the meantime, I have found some great sources for vintage licence plates, etc.. that you could use for your car frames.. frame a few of them?.. they are great collector items right now, and will be worth more down the road.
