Window Art

Window art is a great way to cover up a dingy dark useless window!

I have made a few of these... I have made the frames out of 1x2 inch wood and 1x1 inch wood for the cross pieces, I then purchased a piece of masonite from the hardware store that was already pre-cut at 2 x 3 feet.. (that was in this case, you can make these any size).. I then painted a lighthouse scene for a customer who was missing the sea. She had a window on a wall that literally stared at a brick wall, very little if any light was coming in, so we covered it with this "faux window" window art!... check it out:

I then stained the wooden frame to a shade of her choice, she was very happy!. There are many houses out there with windows that are not well placed, or don't let in light, and this is another alternative.. or you could also make one and add shutters to the side, and hang it on a wall to just look like a window!.. this is another way to display your painting...
