You can do these any size, but for the herbs you might want to use the smaller sized terra cotta pots. These pots take paint very quickly and especially the chalkboard paints.
As a craft to make and sell you could present it more as a gift idea and package it up nice. Simply paint the pots with coloured edges and then the chalkboard paint on the main part and then prime it with chalk and then rub off. This gives it a bit of an aged look (rub the side of a piece of chalk all over the paint then wipe off with a clean dry cloth, this makes it easier to write on.)
You could slip a package of herb seeds and a little stake, chalk or some other decorative items and then wrap in cellophane with a pretty bow. These make great gifts at Christmas time.
Check out the video below for great painting ideas on pots. You can also do this on mason jar lids as a great way to store things in the cabinets or for your spice jars. The chalk can be wiped off and something else written, this is a great way to recycle old flower pots.
You can use this paint anywhere that you can use acrylic. So, for some surfaces such as plastic or metal or glass you should prime it first and then use this product. But for terra cotta pots it works right onto the surface as you see in the video.
