In this project you can get the tea towel, the ribbon and even fashion your own pocket from another tea towel. The video shows you how to make it. But you could easily sell these for 20 dollars or more. If you set yourself up to make a few at a time, your stock will build quickly.
I love browsing through their stores to get awesome craft ideas that can be made affordably or on the cheap, but they also have some great deals online. You can purchase things like the tea towels in the above video online in bulk and save even more money. A dozen of thesechef themed tea towels is 12 bucks!
Using the dollar store for some of your supplies does not make your project cheap. You still create quality which is important for selling. In the video they suggest you can use a glue gun, but really this project would be better by being sewn so that you can advertise your kid's apron as totally washable. Rooster Themed Tea Towels
Parents would love to know that it can be thrown in the washer and dryer without it falling apart as kids are likely to get it dirty. I personally find that using a glue gun for fabric is not the best way if it is to have repeated washings. You can purchase specifically designed fabric glue. But from personal experience, either hand sew or machine sew.
Machine sewing would make this a very fast project and your hourly rate worthwhile. So remember, in this project you could get the tea towel, the ribbon, the pocket (unless you have some old jeans) you could re-design the pocket out of other fabrics if you would prefer, and the embellishments to sew on the front of the pocket can all be got at the dollar store. Therefore keeping your costs down. Cute Sunflower Tea Towels
This is a very colourful craft idea and would be perfect for the craft shows, especially if you could hang one up so it can be seen by people walking by your table. Remember you only have a few seconds to get them interested in your crafts.
If you pick colorful and bright tea towels for this project they are sure to be a hit. Kids love to help and why not encourage them to have fun cooking and baking in the kitchen without messing up their clothes. This will inspire them to dig right in.
